Located under a large public staircase of a metro station in Bangalore, Thup! ‘Em was conceived as a fast food restaurant serving hot uttapam rolls (rice flour pancakes) and dosas for busy customers in transit via the overhead metro rail every day.
View from Ground Floor Seating toward the Service Counter.
Thup ‘Em! is a portmanteau conceived from two words - “Thup” from Uttapam functions as an onomatopoeia for the sound produced while flipping the rice pancakes, and “Em!” from Them.
In combination, Thup ‘Em! is intended to be a Pun that translates into “Flip Them Pancake” carrying a playful and implicit undertone of the brand’s core intentions to deliver the food in the shortest possible time to its eagerly waiting customers.
